“Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow; don’t walk behind me, I may not lead; walk beside me…”
- Albert Camus
It is perhaps unlikely that anyone can journey through life without encountering periods of profound challenge, loss or unhappiness. In such times of crisis and trouble it can be a great comfort to receive the support of a professional therapist who can empathise without judging, promote insights without taking over, and can encourage growth and new understanding without exerting pressure.
Our therapists are senior accredited practitioners who work in the St Albans and Hemel Hempstead areas of Hertfordshire (approximately 20 minutes from Central London by train).
We believe that people seeking counselling and psychotherapy have the right to experience a relaxed but secure professional environment in which they can work on concerns which are causing them distress. When this is provided, people of all ages and backgrounds find they can begin to speak about sensitive issues and to achieve some resolution of their problems.
Regular weekly meetings promote a sense of trust, allowing a feeling of safety and security to develop in which difficult personal issues can be addressed. It is frequently found that disturbances from the past can contribute to feelings of unhappiness; and in such circumstances sensitivity and deep understanding are needed if these troubles are to be worked through and alleviated.
